A Necessary Introduction

Ahoy Blogosphere!

My name is Jessica and I am starting this blog in an effort to document what I believe to be a unique phenomenon. Each and every morning, or afternoon (depending on the night before), when I awake I have a song in my head without fail. I open my eyes for the very first time and BAM! Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" on full blast in my skull. This song is completely random (or so I think) as it is never a song I have heard right before going to sleep or even the entire day prior to the morning it inexplicably ends up in my brain. Not only is this song in my head without reason, but on many occasions this song ends up summing up the day it begins quite well. I want to try to determine why this happens, as I'm sure it does to many of you out there, not in an effort to resolve it, but just to see if there is any rhyme or reason behind that "Rebel Yell" in "Gangster's Paradise."
